〈Seven offerings with no fortune〉

In February I wrote that "Muise" of "Offerings" is "to get rid of fear, relax and take words of comfort".
"Muise" is the offering not by property, but by heart. I want to refer to "seven offerings with no fortune" of "Muise" this month.

"Seven offerings with no fortune" are

  • "Jiganze" --- Gentle eyes, eyes with love
  • "Waganze" --- Face in a good mood, peaceful face
  • "Aigoze" --- Gentle words, heartfelt words
  • "Shashinze" --- Help work, service using the body
  • "Shinryoze" --- Show approval in the good thing, share joy and sorrow
  • "Shozaze" --- Offer a cushion, hand over a place or a seat
  • "Bojaze" --- Give a waiting room, allow to be in a room or under the eaves

You may think "Seven offerings with no fortune" is difficult word, but they are not so difficult to do when you look at them carefully.
The person who is said to be "a good person" carries out some of them. They can pay attention to other persons kindly and brightly.
There are persons beloved of all, but conversely, there are persons disliked unfortunately. To be loved or to be disliked, that depends on whether you have a feeling to be considerate of other persons or not.

You can see the words, "Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you." in the Analects of Confucius, and "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." in the Old Testament.
"Consideration to other persons" is the universal truth not only in Buddhism, but also in Confucianism and Christianity.

We should be human who can feel other persons' grieves as our own grieves. That is the offering by heart and is the beginning of "Seven offerings with no fortune".
